Textiles

Since starting textiles, we have had a few workshops on how to use different skills and techniques to apply our ideas, and how to use these skills to create textile designs. Yesterday, i had a knit workshop, i didn't think i would enjoy it, but i found it very interesting. It was exciting learning something new and the thought of applying my ideas through knit or even print sounds so much fun. I cant wait. I have yet to see what is involved in weave, but hopefully that will be just as much fun. Once i am further on in the culture project i will be able to apply my ideas using the skills we are currently learning. I am very much looking forward to that stage in the project.

I am usually quite good with setting up web pages but this blog is 'new' to me and is taking a while to get used to. I am still sitting here an hour or two later trying to figure everything out. I cant actually believe i have one follower as there is nothing on my page yet. Hopefully i will get the hang of it soon and ill keep everyone following my blog updated. I have been doing a project on 'culture' for the past two weeks, collecting research on islamic architecture from different regions, particulary looking at the patterns and colours in mosques. While travelling in the summer, Turkey was brilliant for taking photos for inspiration. In istanbul the interior walls of the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya were full of amazing patterns and colour, even the exterior of the builings were inspiring.
After going travelling in the summer it has given me lots of inspiration. I cant wait to see more of the world....
